Let's Travel: Emirates Park Zoo

Unexpected ZOOper and ZOOlit adventure happened for my first ever recorded travel for 2016. It will take long for me to share it details by details but I guess, It was a blessing in disguise.

It's my first time to visit a ZOO here in UAE (I can't even recall the last time I visited such at PI). It was fun and informative travel that everyone of us MUST experience once in awhile.

Let's learn more about the place.

Emirates Park Zoo is built on the promise that every guest will be able to appreciate the natural world all over again after a visit—taking home new discoveries, unique experiences and unforgettable memories.  The zoo offers an exciting concept where children can interact with many species by touching or feeding the many farm and wild animals that are housed at the zoo.

With a laidback and family-oriented atmosphere, the zoo is a place that inspires and encourages kids and adults alike to explore, have fun and stay connected to nature and wildlife.
A place of fun, learning and adventure for the young and young at heart! Launched in 2008 as the first private zoo in the UAE, it is now home to a colorful menagerie of wildlife and an ever growing menu of features, attractions and interactive activities.

Okay let's see their main attractions as they divided it into different species.

Bird Park

The bird park houses more than 470 birds representing 48 different species.
The Crown Crested Pigeon is one of the very rare breeds that can be found here.

Here are some of my IOS shots!

Domestic Section

This is where most of the interaction with the animals takes place. We have more than 16 different species which can be fed, touched and handled by children of all ages.

Flamingo Park

The flamingo park is home to 7 different species including Black-headed Ibis, Grey-Crowned Crane, Lesser Flamingo, Pelican Edited, Southern Screamer, White-Naped Crane. You will also find the South African sea lions in the Flamingo Park.

Giraffe Park

The giraffe park is home to more than 36 animals made up of giraffes, zebras and Japanese sikka deers.  The main attraction here is the reticulated giraffe which is the tallest living animal reaching to 7 meters in height.

Ocean Park

The Ocean park features more than 69 different species including the Gem Tang which is a very rare and expensive member of the surgeonfish family. Black tip sharks from Indonesia and Philippines and live rock corals are also part of the attractions.

Wild Life Park

More than 5 different predator species can be seen at Emirates Park Zoo. The stars of this section are the white tigers. Note no more than 300 white tigers can be found around the world, 3 of them can be found at Emirates Park Zoo, also you can see Lions, Amur leopards, Cheetahs, Siberian Tigers and the only Indian Asian Elephants in the United Arab Emirates, Rada and Madu. Other species include addax deer, axis deer, Eland and many more herbivores animals.

It was under construction when we visited the place. That's why we didn't see the elephants!

Primate Section

Monkeys are exciting to watch especially how these animals play and interact with each other. The primate section is one of the zoo’s main attractions for children and adults alike.

Reptile Park

More than 31 different species can be found in the reptile park including the Johnston’s Chameleons

Snake Alley

Seven different species of snakes are available at Emirates Park Zoo including the lavender python, which was discovered in 2003 and is arguably the most tyrosinase-negative form of python in existence today.
