Global Village: Commute Travel Tip

It's the 22nd Season already of Global Village. Started last November 1, 2017 and will soon close again this upcoming April 7, 2018.

To those who are not familiar with the Global Village, it is one of the tourist destination that Dubai offers during the winter season. It is considered as the leading seasonal cultural extravaganza in the region that offers visitors an amazing array of festivals, shopping & entertainment.

There are still few more days before this season ends, so here's a blog on how to go to Global Village via commute or the public transportation. I am based in Abu Dhabi, so it will be my point of origin.

From Al Wahda Bus Station in Abu Dhabi, there are two options on how to go to Dubai. You can ride the Bus or the "Patan"  Taxi. For us, we chose to ride the taxi because first of all, we are three so it'll be faster for it to be full. Then, the taxi is faster than the bus when it comes to travel time (Just bassed on my personal experience). Bus and the Taxi fare are just the same. They're both 25AED.

You have 2 options again to choose in which place are you going to stop. The first one is the Al Ghubaiba Station and the Al Jafiliya Metro Station. Both have the access to the RTA bus going to Global Village. In our case, we've chose the Al Jafiliya Metro Station because we'll meet our friend there and her photographer friend.

Just on the the other side of the Al Jafiliya Metro Station, there is a bus stop there and ride the bus number 104. The fare is 15AED so better reload your card at least 45AED already.

Approximately 45mins travel time from Al Jafiliya Metro Station. Expect that the RTA will be fully loaded and you must be willing to stand until you reach the place. Just a hint, if you really want to get a seat on the RTA, better to ride at Al Ghubaiba Station because it is it's first stop.

The ticket for the entrance inside the village will be 15AED.

Here are some of our photos taken by our photographer (Solo shots will be in a separate blog post)

There's a carnival section inside the Global Village. So if you want to have fun, better try there rides.

Every country included are selling some stuffs so it's also considered to be a shopping center or a tiangge.

But the experience will be in its best if you're with your family, close friends or even with your lover.

You can still ride again the RTA in going back but this time, you'll go down to The Al Ghubaiba Bus Station because it is where the Big Buses for inter Emirates are located.

Beautiful shots were taken by our photographer: Chy

Hope this simple travel tip for commuters will be beneficial for you guys. My vlog about our Global Village getaway will be edited and uploaded soon.
