G Bites

It's the third part of my Ilocos Norte's travel blog. Hope you have enjoyed reading the first 2 parts. Anyways, this were the two last towns we visited. We're really exhausted but still we can't resist to see the beauty that the towns has to offer. Let's start with   Batac City, Ilocos Norte.  It is another city of Ilocos Norte that known to be the " Home of Great Leaders " as its the hometown of significant figures in the history of the Philippines. Among them is former President Ferdinand Marcos where his museum is also located here. It is also the birthpalce of Gregorio Aglipay, the founder of Philippine Independent Church, better known as the Aglipayan  Church, and Gen. Artemio Ricarte, the Father of Philippine Army.  The  Immaculate Conception Church  is just located at the heart if the city. Because my Ilocos Norte travel was really  a long one due to many tourist destinations we visited, I chose to divide it by parts. This would definitely be the second part of my Ilocos Norte's Expedition! Bare with me guys. Early in the morning on the next day, we went to the town of Burgos.  Burgos , Ilocos Norte is one of the towns of Ilocos Norte wherein the famous  Kapurpurawan Rock formation, Wind Farm and The Cape Bojeador Lighthouse  are located. It was formerly called  Nagparitan   which means "prohibited" but then renamed after the martyred priest Jose Burgos who was born in the Ilocos Region. It was said that before, no outsiders are allowed to enter the town's vicinity. But now, it is open for foreign and local tourists who wanted to visit the place. It is a long drive from Laoag City.
