Winter Shapes & Prints!

Image
Hello there? I'm back on track to give you my own and personal taste of fashion style for winter. Believe it or not? You can feel now the winter breeze here in UAE. They also called it winter season though "snow" is not present. It's only the cold breeze from  nearby countries that has the said season.  Anyways, it's the perfect season for layering styles. Sweat shirts, jackets, cardigans, and long sleeves are the leading styles that would definitely be the center of fashion for this season. But anyhow, here's my winter season style tip. Prints and shape patterns are definitely a standout style for any season. I'm wearing the sweater  with shape patterns from H&M. The combination of white and black lay-outed to a gray fabric is so divine. Match it with a black sweat pants for comfort and partner it with a attractive pair of shoes. In my case, I let my colorful Airmax shine. Wear little accessories such as a different shape of sungla...

Halo Halo de Iloko Balay

Image
It is again the surfing break season in our province in the Philippines. I've been absent for 3 consecutive years already. I miss the waves and party at the seashore with some circle of friends.  Anyways, aside from being dubbed as the " Surfing Capital of Northern Philippines ", La Union is also a place to dine in. One of the top restaurants that the province can offer is Halo-halo de Iloko Balay. Located at P. Burgos Street and Zandueta Street, City of San Fernando, La Union,  Halo-halo de Iloko Balay is a must visit when heading North.  The outside appearance is just like a 2-storey house decorated with colorful stuffs. But the interior is absolutely cool. It is decorated with pieces of artworks from paintings, sculptures and delight.  It's not my first time to dine here already. I've been here many times and I can say that their "okoy" is the best!  Here's what we ordered for our merienda. Pancit Bihon: ...

Halloween Devil Outfit

Image
In all honesty, I never attended any Halloweeen Parties in my whole life. When my colleague and I planned to wear simple halloween costume in our work place, I found it hard to think of a proper and right costume for me. I don't wanna spend more for just a day costume so I chose to be just a Devil . Maybe it's already an overused look for an halloween party, but this is the simplest style that is easy to achieve.  Here's the look: The look is just easy. I just wore a plain black basic tee from H&M matched with a white dotted red cardigan from Mr. Yoso (a shop based in La Union, Philippines) ; Black pants was still from H&M ; partnered with Black &White pair of shoes from Vans. Just added a black dogtag from Aldo Accessories and the devil red horn from Posters . To complete the whole look, the face must be intense, more dramatic and fierce.  Make up done by my friend from  Deborah Milano  Cosmetics located at Al Wahda...

My Less than 100AED outfit

Image
I wore this street comfy style when I went to Dubai for my medical. Yes! It was just a combination of sale items i bought from different stores. Believe me, the total cost of this outfit was just less than a 100 AED (bag and shoes are excluded). Cap was 10AED from H&M  Top was 19AED from Pull&Bear Jordan chain was 10AED from WearMart Pants was 25AED from H&M Watch was 23AED from Casio (souq.com) Total= 87AED only I just added my white Flight Jordan shoes and black Parfois messenger bag to complete the look.  Sometimes, it's better to buy for sale items (most especially during the first day coz you still have good choices and sizes and the last day of the sale coz they'll have further mark down). You can really save money!  What can you say about this look? Feel free to comment for suggestions. Follow me on my IG and Twitter accounts @iamyrag26   Thank YOU! -Yrag

Batac Empanada (Glory's Empanada)

Image
One of the BESTs local merienda that a must taste when you are in ILOCOS REGION is the EMPANADA . Ilocanos made some twist with the typical empanada that everyone knows. It's the orange colored empanada that can only be found in Ilocos!   Many parts of the region made its own version of it. Like in Vigan and Laoag to name a few but most of the people said  that Batac empanada is the best of them all. So during our Ilocos Norte trip, we went to Batac to taste it!  Batac, Ilocos Norte is not only known to be the "Home of Great Leaders" but also with its annually celebrated Empanada Festival.  They are considered to be the origin of the famous orange colored merienda. I don't know the exact history though. Batac Empanada is characterized by its orange crust and its filling made up of Iloco longganisa and young papaya shreds.  The orange colored crust is due to the use of achuete leaves and aside fr...

Sure, Ilocos Sur Escape: Vigan City and Bantay

Image
Philippines was once colonized by the Spaniards years ago. That's why some of the traditions and customs are basicaly mirrored by them. Most especially in the northern part of the country, some of the words in their native dialect used by the group of people called Ilocanos are similar to Spanish. Their great influence can also be seen on the different architectural works throughout the country. Vigan City , is one of the most prominent city to consider. Recognized by UNESCO World Herritage  Site as one of the New7Wonders Cities of the world, Vigan City is popular for its  well-preserved spanish architectural houses that is main located in Calle Crisologo at the heart of the city. Personally, I can't remember the last time I visited the City. My province is just next to it and I am pretty sure I've been here when I was in grade school. It was years back then. I can't even recall how do it look.  As if I rode a time machine and went back to the S...
